ABOUT INDUS
Welcome to Indus Early Learning Centre, started in June 2011, at Whitefield, Bangalore by the Indus Trust. The school caters to pre-primary education for children below the age of 7 years.
The IELC Curriculum Is Organised Into Five Areas Of Learning
Language Development
Preschool education concentrates on the basics of oral communication, speaking and listening, reading and comprehending simple texts and encouraging writing skills. This area of learning helps children stay ahead of the curve by giving them the motivation to start writing and reading with enthusiasm.
Numeracy
This area helps children develop their skills in logical operations, like counting, sorting, matching, creating patterns, problem-solving and working with shapes and measures. We help them build a strong mathematical foundation through practical tasks, stories, songs, games and imaginative play. We also help children understand how mathematics can be applied in real life, during their pre-school education.
Science & Social Studies
Children are inquisitive from birth. Every day, they are exposed to a whole range of sights and sounds, which stimulate their curiosity. At Indus pre-school learning centre, we help them develop age appropriate knowledge, skills and understanding to make sense of the world around them, and learn from life itself.
Social & Physical Education
To become true leaders, children learn to strive for success through the all-round development of their personal, social, emotional and physical selves. This provides them with excellent opportunities to succeed in all areas of learning.
Creative Arts
Exploring and Learning the arts helps children experience a unique integration of the body and mind. We encourage children to indulge in and appreciate different forms of creative expressions like art, music, dance and role play, which makes IELC one among the top pre-primary Schools in Bangalore.

CEO’s Message – November 2024
Dear Parents and Teachers,
As we enter the Age of Collective Intelligence, collaboration with AI in education has become paramount. With large language models reaching an IQ of 120, and projected to reach 140 by 2026, we see unprecedented opportunities for enriched learning. AI’s role in classrooms is not to replace human insight, but to enhance it, allowing students to learn faster and more deeply. By learning collaboratively with AI, students and teachers can unlock new ways of understanding and problem-solving.
This shift calls for a mindset focused on teamwork, where AI, teachers, and students each bring unique strengths to the table. I encourage you to embrace AI at home, and in the classroom as a learning partner. Together, we are preparing our students not only for today, but for a future we do not know – a future where AI will be an integral part of our lives.

What Parents Say About Us
We wanted to share glimpses and a heartfelt testimony of the wonderful and enriching experiences that await for our child (Viraat Gusain – Nursery ) every day at IELC.
As with all institutions or organizations, it is the people working there who define the attitude and altitude of that institution. IELC has been blessed with a wonderful team who understand the individual needs of the toddlers and ensure a safe and productive environment which is conducive for all round growth. What impresses us at every interaction is the depth of knowledge the nursery team has of each and every child with them.
We also love the level of collaboration, patience, personal interest and attention that the teachers are bestowing upon the children. The learning and personal growth which we have seen in Viraat has been extremely satisfactory and this is a result of the school’s multi-dimensional growth strategy for each student.
We would like to express heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful teachers, and the entire nursery team who, under the able mentorship of Ms. Priyanka, ensures that Indus Espouses Love & Care (IELC)
A home away from home is a dream for every parent when they send their child to school. Schools are not just a place to study anymore; they are an extension of our lives. IELC has been that home and that family to us. From the curriculum, the premises, the management and most of all the teachers; Indus has been in our life journey with our son Neal. Parents proudly share moments when their child said the first word or took that first step…however, we forget the school that creates, nurtures and cements many more first’s in our child’s journey - the first spelling he learned, the first time he danced on the stage, the first time he made me a card, the first time he taught me a life lesson because his teacher taught him so; so many firsts we cannot possibly count. We are proud and elated to always say – “Where Neal is today, he is because IELC played such a huge part and role”. A big heartfelt Thank you to the teachers and the entire Indus family for making so many moments memorable and fulfilling for us and our child Neal.
Shikha Bansal Parent of Avyaan Bansal, Prep 1Indus Early Learning has been a wonderful experience for our son and ourselves. The teachers are passionate and knowledgeable, always taking a deep personal interest in the unique personalities of the children in the class. I have appreciated how they have observed Neil and helped him grow, with very specific and sensitive feedback. The level of involvement for parents is unmatched. I always know what is going on in school, and it is inclusive without being overwhelming.
Our testimonial would be incomplete without a shout out to Neil’s teachers on how they supported us enormously during a personally trying period. While being posted abroad with Neil, they made sure he saw his friends every week through video calls. That helped him feel part of the group. Many thanks to the strong, amazing staff that make this school the best in Bangalore!
We recently moved to Bangalore from San Francisco and were looking a good school for our son for 1st grade. Indus Early years came highly recommended from our neighbors and parents. As I look back at the last year - Indus has been an excellent choice with three things that I feel distinguish them from the rest
1. Effective Goal setting process. The child defines their own goals at the beginning of the year and builds a detailed plan to achieve them. A valuable skill taught early.
2. Clear Communication with Parents. IELC does a fantastic job communicating each step of the way via email and provides detailed reports of all activities.
3. 360 approach to learning - They have incorporated a multi modal approach to teaching and learning that is truly tailored to each student and how they learn best.
Finally I have come to appreciate the leadership at the school and the principals imbibed from the Indus International Bangalore- the main school. If you are looking for a wholistic education for your child that pushes them to become the best versions of themselves, I highly recommend IELC!
Our journey for the search of a school started last year when we moved from Delhi to Bengaluru. Since the beginning, we were very sure that we wanted Avyaan not to travel far from home in his early years. We zeroed down on Whitefield as our area of choice and like every parent enquired about all the renowned schools in this zone. After researching and visiting all major names, we visited Indus Early Learning Centre. "The First Vibe" was fairly positive. Ms. Julie took us around the premises and gave us a glimpse of life @IELC. We visited thrice to reconfirm our first impression and every time we left "very convinced". The last 10 months have proven that the call we took on the basis of our "First Vibe" was actually the best one for Avyaan. The impact of world-class curriculum and pedagogy, goal setting at an early age and a healthy mix of education, sports, and extracurricular activities are clearly visible in Avyaan. The constant communication and the feedback that we receive from the school have kept us equally informed and involved in our son's overall development. We were pleasantly surprised to see Avyaan shining bright with confidence at IELC Sports day and in the Unit of Inquiry session on 'Future of Transport'. We sincerely thank both the Prep 1 teachers who have made him feel at home. A special thanks to Ms. Priyanka for always being there and leading the entire team with a smile.
Shikha Bansal Parent of Avyaan Bansal, Prep 1The Journey for our two children, Aarav and Anika at IELC- Whitefield will always be a sweet memorable one.
We still remember we had to be in Aarav’s class for two months to make him settle down, the main reason was that he was an overprotected child. But once he got settled there was no looking back. While we accompanied him, we never felt uncomfortable by any means. We have seen Aarav’s development after joining IELC-W. He has become an independent, courageous, outspoken and confident child. When we had to choose a school for our daughter, we had no second thoughts on which school to make her join for her pre-nursery. It was a year and a half journey for her to become an outgoing child from a shy child.
All the teachers and staff have always supported us beyond our expectations and are highly motivating. Ms. Priyanka has set a very high standard in terms of expectations from students. A heartfelt Thank You to IELC-W for looking after our kids so well and giving them not only theoretical knowledge but also teaching them to connect it practically.
Watching my son transform from a shy 4-year-old to an outgoing, confident and opinion-oriented 6 years old in the past 3 years has been a welcome sight. He joined the Indus Early Learning Centre, in Prep 1 and the school was highly recommended by many of my close friends. The personal attention, encouragement and additional help provided by all the teachers to my son helped him to express his thoughts and build his confidence and that has been heart-warming for me. The best thing that I like about their teaching method is that they allow the student to observe, come up with their questions, prepare, perform activities as per their understanding and finally present it in front of the whole class and parents.
Ajinder Parent of Angad Grade 1My daughter Gabrielle has been going to IELC Whitefield since February of 2018. Everything was new for her when we arrived in Bangalore: the country, language, friends, food, and culture. IELC team has a lot of experience with international students and the teachers know how to make them feel welcome, reassure them and help them develop self-confidence. Teachers are attentive, adaptive and very close to each and every student. The relationship between students, parents and IELC team is very transparent. The school has been able to strike a balance between academic education and soft skills. Since this year, the after school activities have opened up, an avenue for children to develop new skills like karate, swimming, pottery, art or keyboard. The ESL after school classes for adults have helped parents like me who are able to benefit a lot as we got a chance to improve our language skills. As for Gabrielle, she has blossomed, especially at the end of the kindergarten cycle in Prep2. We are definitely convinced by the method and the competency of the team. Gabrielle is happy to go to school every day. This is the best indicator of how happy she is at IELC.
Alexandra Paget Parent of Paget Gabrielle, Prep 2Kabir has been with IELC since he was 3 years old and we have seen him open-up and flourish in the safety of the IELC environment. Thinking about IELC brings two thoughts to our mind - First, is the sense of security and confidence that our child is in a safe and nurturing environment. The second thing, that we deeply appreciate is that the teachers and the staff of IELC do not push him to learn but gently nudge him towards becoming the best version of himself. We value the fact that the ecosystem is nurturing him into being a well-rounded, empathetic and confident child.
Annapurna V and Marut Setia Parents of Kabir Setia Prep 2Testimony for IELC cannot be expressed in words. It gives us, as parents, immense satisfaction about the decision which we took in 2019. There is a perfect alignment between the values we as parents want to infuse in Amaira and what the “Gurus”(Teachers) of the school are focussing on. They are building not just “Leaders of Tomorrow” but also “Citizens of Today”.
IELC always has great activities that continue to inspire children and their parents. Amaira loves her nurturing teachers, who encourage her to grow and also have fun with her. Their focus is on instilling positive values and compassion in the students.
The atmosphere and learning environment are optimal for all young children. All of the students receive individual attention. The children’s and parents’ needs are addressed, and the staff takes a special interest in kids. We can be at ease when Amaira is at school knowing she is cared for, safe, and in a place that facilitates her future success.
When Arthur started school at IELC he was just 3 years old and a shy child. He went to Reception and he liked it very much. As parents, we were happy with the level of open communication from the school. We were informed every day in the diary what Arthur did and ate, and we could ask any question to his teachers. When Arthur moved to Prep 1 the transition was very smooth and we were very comfortable with the school organization and methodologies. Overall, I think IELC is very professionally managed and provides a safe environment for kids to learn and grow. Compared to the European school system, we are always amazed at how lucky these kids are to have so much space for all the activities, smaller class sizes, allowing them to receive all the attention they need! Arthur grew a lot in the last 2 years at IELC. Thanks to all the great teachers and friends!
Cecile Binot Arthur motherWe are very happy that Mateo joined IELC Whitefield this year. The school’s friendly environment helped him to feel comfortable very quickly and now he is very happy to go to school. He has made great progress in English and is more confident talking in English to an audience. He has always been social and outgoing and the school has definitely helped him polish these skills in a positive way by involving him in school plays which he really enjoyed. The school also set a few goals for him for the year. Goal setting helped Mateo to overcome his fear of putting his head under the water in swimming and now he enjoys swimming.
Claire Monteiller Parent of Mateo Gaona Monteiller, Prep1For our son Aman, Indus Early Learning Center-Whitefield’s friendly, open and cozy surroundings coupled with smiling, caring and compassionate teachers have helped him understand and explore the outside world since he was 21 months old.
The school brings in a blend of experience, innovative engagement, and social bonding. LIke, the nature trails for Reception kids each week gives them a unique opportunity to bond and explore amidst a green forest. Similarly, including essential life skills - swimming into the curriculum right from pre-nursery provides an avenue for holistic development. Engaging babies, toddlers and kids for stage events, sports day, weekly “Show and Tell” sessions provide a unique opportunity for team building, confidence building, and creative expression at a tender age furthering their holistic development.
The school also engages parents for various events on a continual basis, thus easing the process for the little ones to adapt quickly to the surroundings and environment. All in all, it is a place Aman cherishes and we as parents love visiting. Thanks to the amazing IELC family.
Wilhelm joined IELC in Pre-Nursery when he was 1 year and 5 months. The teachers and assistants were welcoming, and soon Wilhelm was the first one to run around in the morning at home shouting “shoes on, shoes on”, so we could go to school, even on the weekends. It was quite apparent that IELC was the right place for our little gold nugget, even though we did have some concerns about sending him this young to school. English is not his first language, but it is truly amazing to see the development of his language skills. We are convinced that at this point he knows more English than his native tongue, a true testimony of the interaction between teachers and pupils at IELC. I could also support the Cottonlengo project by teaching children with disabilities to use a computer. I believe it is a great initiative from the school to help the community.
Gitte Korsholm Mother of Wilhelm Korsholm, Pre-Nursery4 Years! It has been 4 years since my daughter joined nursery at IELC - Whitefield. It has been an exciting, emotional and a fulfilling journey. When we walked into the school, after looking at two - three other schools, we just felt a sense of belonging and easiness at IELC Whitefield. The staff was friendly, and the whole process of introducing us to the campus and curriculum was effortless.
The school has made the children confident, appreciative and at the same time empathetic. In this day and age, where getting into schools itself is a rat race and then the pressure of performing takes its toll, here the children are taught other more valuable life skills like how they can improve themselves without competing with their friends.
The HOC, teachers, the support staff and the security, each and every one make up for a successful and a loving school environment. Since the time we have been coming to school, we were amazed that they all remember each child by name and what class they belong to. Not only have the kids become a part of the IELC family, but so have the parents. The love and support from everyone is fabulous.
And now here we are, the children are graduating with pride. We look forward to Grade 1 and more learning, more adventures, more friends and more fun.
The year 2019 - 2020 has been a very eventful year. My second kid started schooling at IELC Whitefield, which was the best decision we ever made. I, being a PAC member at first seemed a daunting task, but it was a seamless process with immense cooperation from teachers, support staff, parents, my fellow PAC members and most importantly Ms. Priyanka. Whatever queries, suggestions or feedback we had, they were always addressed and were always taken into consideration. They have gone out of their way to make changes in food menus, parking issues, and many other suggestions. The teachers have always had the "can do" attitude, giving special attention to each child and to his/her needs. Nursery teachers have gone out of their way to make the kids comfortable and the support of assistants has been wonderful. Being a PAC member gives you an insight and it definitely changes the perspective. Having huge support from parents of Nursery definitely made things easier. I am sure the new session will also be equally magical and fun and hoping for another fun year soon.
Kajal Sheth Mother of Samar Kataria, NurseryMy son started at IELC Whitefield when he was only 18 months old and at the time was joining, I was skeptical about how he'll adjust as it was his first time at a place without us. Now I know we made the right choice.
With the help of his teacher, Ayan, talks more, plays a lot and learns things that make him happy every day. The approach of the school is amazing. Every child is treated as an individual person with love and respect and my son's smile is the biggest proof of the great job they do.
If you are searching for a beautiful and happy environment that will help your kid grow, you don’t have to search any further... IELC Whitefield is your answer!
When we moved to India, I was very aware that my then four year old had lived in many countries and needed a soft landing. I looked at several schools and instantly fell in love with IELC Whitefield. I found the size of the school and the facilities to be just right and Ms. Priyanka, a wonderful combination of warmth and competence with a clear special touch with the children. Two years on and I couldn’t be happier with our decision. Tito’s teachers have gone far and beyond to understand his sensitivities and guide him. Now a confident little boy, I am certain he will one day think back on the care shown, even throughout COVID 19 lockdown.
Martina Cortesi Mother of Tito Murray Threipland Prep 2When we arrived in India in January 2017, based on our pre-visit we had already decided that our daughters would attend school at IELC Whitefield. Retrospectively, that turned out to be a good decision. The school did a good job in supporting the transition from Denmark to India.
Our daughters, aged 4 and 6, arrived with no English language background, but the school was very professional and it is apparent that they have a lot of experience in taking kids from all around the world with very different pre-requisites.
Once the new language was in place, the school has been good at challenging each of our daughters, depending on their academic level. Furthermore, small class size helped our daughters to learn at a remarkable rate.
In general, the school has a welcoming, multi-cultural environment with very engaged and caring teachers. We are always kept informed about our children’s accomplishments and challenges. Thank you, IELC!
Having moved from the USA in April 2019, our priority for our son, Kanishk was to find a school that provides a seamless transition from preschool standards in the USA. Our focus has always been for a school culture that strikes a harmonious balance between academics, sports and arts and Indus has this holistic method very much induced in their teaching methodologies. Our initial school visit and our conversations with Ms. Priyanka and the other teachers had made our choice very clear. The campus also has a very warm and open atmosphere with lots of outdoor areas. To this day, we are very pleased with the emotional and intellectual growth we have seen in Kanishk. Thanks to the teachers and the staff who are very communicative and consistently keep the parents up to date on various aspects of the child. The appropriate teacher - children ratio also helped in having this level of personal connection of teachers with the kids and parents. All in all, when we see Kanishk going to school happily every day, that in itself speaks about the teachers, staff and the school culture at IELC. Thank you for the great learning experience with all the fun activities our whole family had this year!
Sarika Handique and Vimal Kannan Parents of Kanishk Kannan Prep 2Aisyah joined IELC in August 2019. Our family just relocated from Malaysia to India during that time. Being new to the environment, Aisyah took some time to settle to the new school, especially due to the communication barrier as her mother tongue is Malay and she was not able to communicate in English. After her second week at school, Aisyah showed more confidence at school and her English communication skills have significantly improved! This could not have been possible without the great support from all her teachers. IELC provides a lot of learning activities, not only for the kids but also for parents via various organized sessions. Besides that, the teachers always encourage the children to eat healthy and balanced food, resulting in Aisyah eating more variety of vegetables, and she also drinks more water. IELC is a very good school and we feel extremely blessed to have found such a wonderful group of teachers and staff.
Shal and Jamie Parent of Aisyah Kamelia, ReceptionIELC Whitefield charmed us with the warm team they have. I love how they offer differentiated learning and not rote learning. Each day, Advika is challenged with a new activity. The school believes that every child is capable and they challenge children to the best of their limits. IELC groomed Advika to be a critical thinker and a good listener. She has taken up a liking towards many activities such as piano and swimming and the entire credit goes to the team.

When we left Brazil in early 2018 with the proposal to live in Bangalore, our first concern was to look for a school that would contribute positively to the education of our daughter Livia, in making her a global citizen with skills to contribute and build a better world. Several recommendations about the Indus International School emerged when we were in Brazil: Brazilian colleagues who for years lived in India, strongly recommended the school to create leaders. The adaptation to the new school was initially a difficult and painful process since Livia did not speak or understand a single word in English. How to get through this situation?
Maicon and Livia Parents of Livia - Prep 2The qualification of teachers, the educational structure, the quality of teaching and the competence of the school management were essential in this stage. We received all the support necessary for the adaptation in the best possible way. We definitely made the right choice by choosing Indus for the education of our daughter. In the last two years, being part of the IELC family, Livia has evolved to be a thoughtful, cheerful, creative and communicative child and it is clearly visible that these characteristics are developed in the daily teaching routines. Tomorrow's leaders are in the making, and Indus is the best choice!
